I started my artistic career as an amateur sketcher and progressed into watercolour, following some commissions in oils and acrylics I progressed into abstract acrylic painting that draws on my life and gives me a release on canvas.

As a mental health sufferer I have battled for years, from childhood, to find a way to express my feelings outwardly – painting does this.

Working at the intersection of emotion and abstraction, as an artist I create from a deeply personal landscape shaped by depression and anxiety. I translate these feelings into layered textures and fractured forms – where tension and release coexist on the same surface.

My process is intuitive and physical. Paint is pushed, scraped, built up and disrupted, mirroring the internal rhythms of the mind under pressure. Dark, weighted passages anchor the work whilst bursts of colour or bold shades erupt to show moments of clarity, resistance and survival.

Nothing in my work is overly refined, the rawness is intentional, each stroke holds evidence of struggle, movement and persistence.

For me, painting functions as both expression and a coping mechanism where I can be given form without explanation or apology.

Viewers are invited not to decode a single meaning but to feel their own emotional response. The work resonates most with those who understand healing is not linear and that beauty can emerge from fractured places.

Ultimately my paintings are not about despair alone, they are about endurance, about staying present, about finding colour in heaviness – and proving, again and again, that something meaningful can be created in the midst of darkness.

My paintings bring emotion to your walls, they bring reflexion to your life and they are aways a talking point in every room.
