Ian was born and brought up in London.
He spent all his working life in the advertising and design business and for 25 years with his wife, Pauline ran their own design studio in Norwich, Norfolk working for both National and International clients.
Although he has always drawn and illustrated as part of his work, in 2007 he began painting full time.
Ian’s landscapes and paintings of London, especially the docks in the1960's, have been exhibited at galleries in Cornwall, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and London. He spent two years painting Seascapes and landscapes in Cornwall before returning to Norfolk in 2010.
Ian has had two one man shows at the Forum in Norwich, one of which in 2013 displayed a series of paintings depicting ‘The Friendly Invasion’ when the RAF and USAAF fought side by side from the many airfields in East Anglia.
Art is his absolute passion and he is now beginning work on a new range of oils depicting his birthplace and childhood in the Docklands of London, as well as a series of abstracts exploring the beauty of mathematics.
