I trained as a Window Dresser in a north London Store and spent six years there before I married and came to Harpenden. I then spent the next three years window dressing in St Albans before having children.
My husband started a business as a professional wood turner so I devoted my time to help design products and run a business. Throughout this time I was always interested in anything artistic.
It is only in the last few years that I have been able to devote the time needed to develop different techniques and am now happy to be painting and drawing animals & flowers.
I enjoy using many different mediums, including watercolour, pastel, coloured pencils, inks and wax crayons.
I have become well known for painting hares and I attribute this to my friend Richard Ansell, who will sit for hours waiting for the 'right shot'
in the Suffolk countryside.
I exhibit in many local art exhibitions around Hertfordshire and I am very proud to be the winner of:
Hertford Graphics Award at Welwyn Art Club 2009
Hertford Graphics Award at Welwyn Art Club 2010
'Visitors Choice' Award at Hertford Art Society 2011
Stanborough Arts Award at Welwyn Art Club 2011
A marketing company has chosen some of my animals to reproduce as prints, cards and canvases.
I have an exhibition in Royston Museum & Art Gallery in August/September 2014
