Charlie Stafford

3rd Prize Winner

Stone Prize Award 2019

ARTIST STATEMENT:

Much alike Vincent Van Gogh I didn't have an ear for music but I did have an eye for portraiture!
Rather than me telling you what you should think of my artwork, I want you as a viewer to make that decision for yourself. Therefore, the only statement I can give you is through the words of the public and their opinions...

"Unique, captivating and emotional".

"Shading and shadows blend into the art work perfectly. The way that she draws is scruffy and jagged but always looks uniform on the final product! All in all I would say that Charlie's artwork is stunning".

"Charlie captures the essence and personality of the person she is drawing; very heartfelt and soulful".

"She has an eye for the fine detail in her artwork, which compliments a striking and imposing final piece. Charlie's work presents a variety of unique styles, where she aspires to think outside the box in order to create an eye-catching vision"

So to conclude.... I'm a 19 year old amateur boxer based in Essex. I'm currently in the first year of my Art and design degree and all the money I earn from commissions and my part time job pays for my university fees. I aspire to be a teacher, so I can Inspire.

Dedicated to my very first best friend, fly high with the angels....I present to you the painting...'GRIEF'.
