Andy Thomas

Andy is inspired by the natural elegance of the human form finding the connection between the concept of people in various figurative positions and the emotions that they portray. Drawing is a major part of Andy’s inspiration creating shadows to represent the complexity of the human figure.

He enjoys seeing muscle forms and the intricate flowing angles that the body gives, creatively interpreting the third dimension.

The mark of a memorable and constantly satisfying sculpture is always underlined with the renewed interest and excitement that is generated when it is studied from every alternative angle.

Andy is a working sculptor, in his early twenties, who specialises in abstract shapes resembling the figurative form.

Andy is dyslexic and as a result was educated at home after the age of eleven. From an early age, art has been his most important creative outlet, as well as his major passion which has shaped and created the person he is today. It provided an area where he excelled away from the race for constant exams and results.

Andy has worked in many media as he has explored his artistic creativity before deciding to specialise in sculpture. A love for wood and tactile materials encouraged him towards the concept of 3D. The beauty and constant changing of the human form with the memories and evolution of life provide new inspiration for every work.
