Alison Gargett - Artist's Statement
I am a prolific painter who has enjoyed a series of successful selling exhibitions.
I undertake a range of styles from floral, floral abstract, pure abstract towards abstract street-scenes and architectural paintings, with a particular interest in Churches and Cathedrals. I paint using acrylics, oils and a range of household paints. I have also undertaken a number of spray painting exercises which I feel have been very successful. My subject matter is diverse but I lend myself to the abstract style naturally and love bold colours and offering impressions of movement and vibrancy.
I have already had some success in this venture by being selected as one of the winners of the AbEx16 Exhibition, which was judged by the curator of the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. As well as exhibiting locally I will also be exhibiting a few of my abstract paintings at an exhibition in Hampstead, London at the end of August.
